A walk in a canal

I had a walk in a canal with eXcess today, carrying lanterns and what I referred to as “blue dicks” as we made our way from 1 end of Bishan to the other and then later back again but not in the canal. It was 3 firsts for me: walking in a canal, treading on algae and walking around with a blue light stick dangling from my fly.

Walking in a canal is kindda fun until it gets to the part with algae.1 good advice would be not wearing slippers – the more friction and more material the better – and of course, wear a pair of shoes that you won’t mind dirtying. The algae get really thick at certain parts of the canal and I kindda had to scratch my way into the cement with the sole of my slippers to get more friction and that really did help get my slippers and toes soaked with... algae cum? I’m not really sure what it’s called...

Another thing to look out for while in a canal would be nonsense like broken fluorescent bulbs – again, another good reason to wear shoes you won’t mind spoiling – and the gross stuff that live in the canal, like toads.

But the walk wasn’t quite satisfying because there was this part that led out of the canal that was pitch black and I wanted to go in and explore since we all had our lanterns and blue dicks to light up the place. But we couldn’t go in because it was on the other side of the canal; the stream was too big and too infested with algae for us to cross and it had toads inside as well.

But I have to say that I did enjoy myself and I think if I hadn’t turned up today, I wouldn’t have had gone into that canal.

GOOD NEWS! (for me at least)

I've passed my exams, I've cleared every single subject that I had to clear, which means that I am going to graduate! My grades are shit of course but the most important thing is that school’s over, it’s behind me and I’m gonna get a diploma which also means I didn’t waste anybody’s money.

But the thought of leaving the polytechnic is kindda bittersweet. So much has happened in the past 3 ½ years that a part of me wants to leave but I don’t want to let go of the great memories I’ve had, but still I got to move on with life.

And I got to say that the celebration for Ben’s birthday yesterday was great. It was simple and I’m surprised that he wasn’t expecting anything and how everything fell in place so nicely that we managed to throw him the surprise.

But I cannot end this post without thanking God. I believe he worked a miracle for me and gave me exactly what I prayed for. I’m just so thankful man.

Music from Windows

Timmy showed me this video yesterday when I was at his place and I think it’s über cool!

But on to more important matters, voting for the world’s number 1 DJ of 2008 will be ending in about 20 days and I would want to vote but I’m just torn between Armin Van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk and Tiësto.
